Fractals In Space

Space art can come from Apophysis, sheer luck, careful input and layering of complimentary values and variations, and other unconventional and odd forms of, um, stuff :)

A "fractal" is a form of math that can emulate nature. Clouds, leaves, organisms, heartbeats can all be emulated through the pattern that is a fractal.

A fractal is a detailed pattern that repeats itself. This is called "self-similarity": no matter if you look at it from near or far, the repeating pattern remains the same. I use fractals in a purely visual form.

Fractals lend themselves very well to the turbulent patterns in stellar clouds; sparks and forms of light emulating stars; or even flowing water-like textures like waves of ice crystals.

Here are some of mine. Check out my Space Art section for more!

Rosetta Nebula

Inspired by the band "Tool"

Halo Nebula

Inspired by the "Halo" game series.

Magi

Not really a nebula at all...more of an astral depiction of a wizard in battle.

Pikon Nebula

A Battlestar Galactica tribute.

Atlantis Nebula

From one of my favorite legends of all time.

I sincerely hope you enjoyed.
